Circa 2007 - Spencer Garn and saxophonist Cochemea Gastelum (Dapkings) spent three days at 'City of Progress,' the home recording studio of Miami's own DJ Le Spam. Spencer's idea was to implement modern style beats with a hint of Miami vibe and architecture (art deco) that resulted in an exotica fashioned hard hitting groovy sound, known as 'Deco Beats.' There was no pre-planning or pre-written material. Everything was an idea captured in the moment with in those days spent in Miami. There will be more recordings released soon from DECO BEATS! A re-mix from Jon Kennedy(UK) is on the way for 'Deco Nuevo' and there are plans for that single on 7" vinyl soon. DJ Le Spam will be throwing in some flavors on some future recordings and re-mixes too. Stay tuned for more from DECO BEATS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
